Porão (basement) 3.16 is a christian youth group. The challenge for this project was to create a concept for their name and a visual identity.
By definition, porão means: 1. A part of a house or building between the first floor and the ground, where dirty and old things are kept (coal, log, etc.). 2. A part of a house or a building under the first floor, big enough to be habited.
Porão 3.16 é um grupo de jovens cristãos. O desafio deste projeto foi criar um conceito para o nome e uma identidade visual. Por definição, 'porão' significa: 1. Uma parte de uma casa ou edifício entre o primeiro andar e o solo, onde são guardadas coisas sujas e antigas (carvão, lenha, etc.). 2. Uma parte de uma casa ou edifício sob o primeiro andar, grande o suficiente para ser habitada.

Concept
House founded upon a rock
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
The greatest difference between a house founded upon the earth and upon the rock is the depth. In order to avoid building upon the earth, one needs to dig deeper, until one finds the rocks, the ground. We need to go deeper, as in a basement.
CASA FUNDADA SOBRE A ROCHA
47 Todo aquele que vem a mim, e ouve as minhas palavras, e as pratica, eu vos mostrarei a quem é semelhante.
48 Ele é semelhante a um homem que, edificando uma casa, cavou, abriu profunda vala e lançou o alicerce sobre a rocha; e, vindo uma enchente, arrojou-se o rio contra aquela casa e não a pôde abalar, por ter sido bem construída.
49 Mas o que ouve e não pratica é semelhante a um homem que edificou uma casa sobre terra, sem alicerces, na qual arrojando-se o rio, logo caiu; e foi grande a ruína daquela casa." A maior diferença entre uma casa construída sobre a terra e sobre a rocha é a profundidade. Para evitar construir sobre a terra, é necessário cavar mais fundo, até encontrar as rochas, o solo. Precisamos ir mais profundo, como em um porão.
